receptr is an AI text and chat receptionist for local businesses, built and operated by receptr by AJ AI, in Cincinnati, Ohio. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have.
The short version. We collect only what we need to reply to you and run the service. We don't sell your personal information. The AI captures and routes inquiries. It never processes payments, moves money, or gives legal advice. You can ask us to access or delete your data at any time.
This policy applies to three groups:

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of data (health, financial account numbers, government IDs). Please don't send those over text or chat; the AI is built to avoid requesting them.
The AI captures information and routes it. It does not quote or confirm final prices, take payments, move funds, or provide legal, medical, or financial advice. A human at the business handles anything binding.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for third-party marketing. We share data only with:
The site may use minimal cookies and privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic and improve the pages. We don't use cross-site advertising trackers. You can block cookies in your browser; the site still works.
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Demo/contact submissions are kept while we follow up and for a reasonable period after. Message data for our clients is retained per their account settings and our agreement with them. You can request deletion at any time (see below).
Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights. We honor verifiable requests regardless of location. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit who can see it.
receptr is a tool for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has contacted us, let us know and we'll delete it.
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be made clear on this page.
